Conductor

The conductor and co-founder of the choir is Oľga Bystrianska. Her artistic expression is based mainly on the spiritual aspect in the context of the current trend in choral singing. As a conductor, she has many years of experience working in choral ensembles. She is inspired by the music and its effect on the listener. She received her first master’s degree at the Janáček Academy in Brno, in the organ class of Professor Kamila Klugar. During this study she completed a foreign internship in Groningen, the Netherlands – in the class of Theo Jellemu. In 2007, she continued her university studies at the Academy of Arts in the class of Professor Stefan Sedlický in the field of choral conducting, which she completed in 2018 with a dissertation examination. In 2014-2015, she cooperated with the Girls’ Choir of the J.L. Bella and in 2015-2018 with the academic choir Canzona Neosolium. As an expert guarantor she successfully covers the Cantate festival in Nitra and the Choral Song festival in the heart of Slovakia in Banská Bystrica. In 2022, she was a lecturer at the Summer Seminar for Choirmasters in Hradec Králové (Czech Republic). She is a member of the advisory board of the National Centre for Choral Singing in Slovakia.

Vice-conductor

Denisa Gibalová Kabáčová has been the vice-conductor, organist and accompanist of the choir since 2018. In 2005, she entered the Ján Levoslav Bella Conservatory in Banská Bystrica, where she simultaneously studied two music majors, piano under the direction of Mgr. art Aleš Solárik and organ under the guidance of Mgr. Petr Sochuľák. In 2009, she won the 2nd place at the National Competition of Conservatory Students in organ playing. In 2010, she won 2nd place in the 3rd category at the Musica Sacra Festival in Levoča. She has been a student of the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava in the field of organ playing under the pedagogical guidance of doc. Imrich Szabó, ArtD. since 2012. In 2013, she was a representative of the Slovak Radio in the New Talent competition. In 2014 she performed for the first time in the Organ Concerts Under the Pyramid series. In the autumn of 2016, she presented two concerts at the International Festival of Ivan Sokol in Košice and Rožňava. In 2017, she graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. Currently, she actively performs concerts and collaborates with Slovak composers presenting new organ works.
